These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the website at tilochat.com and any associated services (collectively, "Tilo" or the "Service") operated by Tilo ("we", "us" or "our"). For business and support enquiries please contact support@tilochat.com.
By creating an account, purchasing credits, or otherwise using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, whichever is higher) to use Tilo. By using the Service you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement and that your use of the Service does not violate any law or regulation applicable to you.
We reserve the right to request proof of age and to suspend or terminate any account where we reasonably believe the user is under 18.
Tilo is an entertainment service that lets you exchange text messages with curated fictional personas ("Personas"). Each Persona is a character created by Tilo. Photos shown on Personas are AI-generated likenesses and do not depict any specific real person.
Replies sent to you from a Persona are written by Tilo's employees, contractors, or operators (collectively, our "Writers"), responding in the voice and personality of that Persona. A single Persona may be written by more than one Writer, and Writers may change over time without notice. You understand and accept that:
Tilo is not a dating service, not a hookup service, not a social network, and not a way to meet real people. Writers will not arrange real-world meetings, share their real contact details, or transact with you outside of Tilo. Any attempt to do so is a violation of these Terms and should be reported to support@tilochat.com.
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately at support@tilochat.com if you suspect any unauthorised use of your account.
You may close your account at any time from your account settings or by contacting support.
Access to messaging features requires you to purchase prepaid credits ("Credits"). Each Credit entitles you to send one message to a Persona. Credits are non-transferable, have no cash value outside the Service, and cannot be exchanged for cash except as expressly set out in our Refund Policy.
Credits are currently offered in the following packs: Taster (£4.99 for 10 Credits), Starter (£9.99 for 25 Credits), Regular (£24.99 for 70 Credits) and Big Spender (£49.99 for 150 Credits). Pack contents and prices may change from time to time; the price shown at the time of purchase is the price you pay.
All Credit purchases are one-off — Tilo does not offer subscriptions or auto-renewing charges. Prices are displayed in GBP and include UK VAT where applicable; your payment processor may convert to your local currency at checkout. You are responsible for any taxes or fees applicable in your jurisdiction.
Card payments are processed by our third-party payment processor. We do not store full card numbers on our servers.

Messages from Personas are written by Tilo Writers in the role of fictional characters. They may occasionally be inconsistent or out of character, and you should treat them as part of an entertainment experience. Writers are not qualified to give legal, medical, financial, psychological or any other professional advice, and nothing said by a Persona should be relied upon as such. If you are in distress, please contact a qualified professional or, in an emergency, your local emergency services.
Photos and likenesses shown on Personas are AI-generated and do not depict real people. Tilo retains all rights in those images; you may not download, redistribute or reuse them outside the Service.
All Service content, including software, design, text, graphics, Persona characters and AI-generated likenesses, is owned by Tilo or our licensors and protected by intellectual-property laws. You receive a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for personal, non-commercial entertainment purposes only.
You may stop using the Service and request account deletion at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms, posed a risk to other users, or used the Service unlawfully. Sections that by their nature should survive (including IP, disclaimers, liability limitations and dispute resolution) will continue to apply after termination.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI-generated content will be accurate or appropriate.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tilo will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill or other intangible losses arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or £100 GBP, whichever is greater.
We may modify the Service or these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will give reasonable notice (for example, by email or a notice in the app). Continued use of the Service after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms, except where mandatory consumer-protection laws give you the right to bring proceedings in your country of residence.
